Young Americans for Freedom at UCF host mini-flag planting to honor 9/11 attack victims

Young Americans for Freedom at UCF hosted a flag planting event on Thursday to remember those who died in the 9/11 attacks — 24 years after the twin towers were struck. The club brought 2,977 mini American flags, representing the number of lives lost that day, available to those walking by to place one down outside Trevor Colbourn Hall. UCF Athletics hosts National Girls and Women in Sports Day Kids Clinic

UCF Athletics hosted a day full of fun and games for kids ranging from toddlers to eighth graders at the National Girls and Women in Sports Day Kids Clinic on Saturday, at The Venue. All the boys and girls got to try out most of the sports that UCF has women’s teams for, including basketball, cheer, golf, rowing, soccer, track and field, and volleyball.

UCF men's golf swings through the rain placing seventh

After placing 13th at the Sea Best Invitational last month, UCF men's golf placed the highest it has all season, placing seventh at the VyStar Credit Union Gators Invitational in Gainesville on Saturday.

The Knights traveled to the Mark Bostick Golf Course, home of the UF men's and women's golf team, built in 1921. The Gators Invitational was originally set to play on Saturday Feb. 17 and Sunday Feb. 18 but due to inclement weather, the first 36 holes were played on Friday and the last 18 on Saturday.

The Knights bounced back with the help from a huge performance from senior Egor Eroshenko. Eroshenko placed fourth overall and scored -7 under-par overall.

UCF softball concludes the Black and Gold Classic with a victory against Georgia State

After a heartbreaking lost to the UConn Huskies, fans packed the UCF Softball Complex and let the Georgia State Panthers hear it this Sunday as the Knights won 7-2.

The UCF Knights softball team (4-1) hosted the Georgia State Panthers (2-3) on a hot and windy Sunday afternoon. The game marked the Knights' fifth game of the Black and Gold Classic, and their final one of opening weekend.

UCF started off strong in the first inning, allowing no hits and no runs for Georgia State.

The Knights scored first against the Panthers in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly that plated fifth-year first baseman Shannon Doherty. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, Doherty struck again, hitting a one-out single to the right to score two runs.

UCF dominates all sides of the ball in men’s basketball win.

The Knights bounced back after a tough loss against the Stetson Hatters, beating the Lipscomb Bisons 72-57 on Saturday at the Addition Financial Arena.The Knights also scored a total of 34 points in the paint, opposed to the Bisons' 14. The Knights bench scored a total of 23 points, while the Bisons only scored four.
